February


On 28 February, Jason DerĂ¼lo's second single, "In My Head", entered the charts at number one with sales of over 68,000 units. Leona Lewis climbed to a peak of number fourteen with "I Got You" in the week of its release, becoming her poorest performing single to date. Other top 40 new entries come from Ellie Goulding, Sugababes, Chiddy Bang, Alphabeat and Muse, with brand new top 75 entries coming from Black Eyed Peas, Glee Cast and Giggs ft B.o.B. In the album chart on that week, Lady Gaga's debut album The Fame returned to number one 58 weeks after it was originally released with sales of over 45,000 copies. The only other new entry came from Marina and the Diamonds with The Family Jewels, which entered at number five.

February


On 21 February Leona Lewis entered the chart with her single "I Got You" at No. 40 this gives Lewis her 7th UK Top 40 single. Other new entries in the chart this week were Chris Brown with "Crawl", The Courteeners with "You Overdid It Doll" at No. 35 and No. 28 respectively. Meanwhile Lemar returned to the chart with his first top ten since 2006 with the single "The Way Love Goes" entering at No. 8. Due to the Brit Awards on the 16 February the songs "Fight For This Love", "Empire State of Mind", "Bad Romance" and "You've Got The Love" all climbed the chart to No. 36, No. 16, No. 15 and No. 12 respectively. In the top ten Rihanna climbed to a new peak of No. 6 with "Rude Boy" and the highest new entry was the collaboration from the Brit Awards between Florence and the Machine and Dizzee Rascal with "You Got The Dirtee Love" a mash-up of their songs, this reached No. 2 giving Florence her highest ever UK Singles Chart position. Meanwhile on the album chart the Glee Cast entered at No. 1 with their new album "Glee: The Music, Volume 1" selling 62,451, the biggest first week sales of any album released in 2010 so far. The only other new entry in the top ten albums was Owl City with is album "Ocean Eyes" entering at No. 7. Brit Award winners also saw a surge of sales this week with Lady Gaga's album "The Fame" climbing to No. 2 after Gaga won awards for Best International Album for "The Fame", Best International Female Artist and Best International Breakthrough. Whilst Florence and the Machine with "Lungs" climbed to No. 3 after winning the "Mastercard Best British Album" award and Robbie Williams climbed to No. 8 with album "Reality Killed The Video Star" after winning the "Outstanding Contribution to Music" award.

February

On 14 February, Cheryl Cole entered the chart with new single "Parachute" at No. 26, a month before its official release. Two other new entries were from the Glee Cast with songs "It's My Life/Confessions Part 2" and "Halo/Walking on Sunshine"; they both entered at No. 14 and No. 9 respectively. Meanwhile Rihanna with "Rude Boy" rose to a new peak of No. 10 giving her her tenth solo top ten single in the UK Singles Chart. Also rising to new peaks were Calvin Harris with "You Used to Hold Me" at No. 27 and Young Money with "BedRock" at No. 28. Finally debuting at No. 1 was the Helping Haiti single, a cover of "Everybody Hurts". The single, which was arranged by Simon Cowell, features 21 artists including Kylie Minogue, Cheryl Cole, Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart and Susan Boyle. It recorded the biggest first-week sales of any single since 2000, selling over 453,000. All of the proceeds go to the Haiti charities. Over on the album charts Massive Attack entered the chart with their first studio album in seven years, Heligoland, at No. 6. The only other new entry inside the top ten was from Sade with Soldier of Love, their first album in over ten years.

February

In the week commencing 1 February there were just 24 copies between the new Jedward single "Ice Ice Baby" and current No. 1 single "Fireflies". However Owl City increased his lead and managed to maintain his reign at No. 1 therefore being on the top spot for three weeks, beating out X-Factor finalists Jedward. Marina and the Diamonds made her debut in the chart that week at No. 12 after much hype from critics becoming runner-up in Sound of... (BBC poll). The Cast of Glee also continued to dominate the UK Singles Chart with "Somebody to Love" entering the chart at No. 26 and "Don't Stop Believin'" continuing its run inside the top 5. Timbaland and Katy Perry gained a new peak of No. 3 with their duet "If We Ever Meet Again"; this gives Perry her 4th and Timbaland his 8th top 5 single in the UK Singles Chart respectively. Kesha's duet "Blah Blah Blah" with group 3OH!3 entered the chart at No. 11 due to strong digital sales of 27,161; this was likely due to the album being released the same week, it has charted a whole month before the official release of the single. In the UK Album Charts, Alicia Keys' album The Element of Freedom made a peak of No. 1 therefore also giving Keys her first UK number one album. Also Corinne Bailey Rae with The Sea, Kesha with Animal and Peter Andre with Unconditional: Love Songs entered the UK Album Chart at No. 5, No. 8 and No. 9 respectively.
